Laurence Maroney, Founder

Laurence Maroney born and raised in St. Louis, MO(in the heart of Normandy), attended Normandy High School where he holds the single season rushing record. Laurence attended the University of Minnesota where he became the first Golden Gopher and the third in Big Ten Conference history to rush for 1,000 yards in each of his first three seasons, becoming a two time All-Big Ten First-team, selected an All-American by Pro Football Weekly and Rivals.com and inducted into the University of Minnesota Hall of Fame. Laurence’s vision is to be the person he wish he had growing up. He is committed to showing his community that they too, can achieve big dreams and if they have the determination and drive, they can accomplish anything they put their mind to. Laurence & the LM39 Foundation is committed to providing safe spaces for our youth to develop into leaders, heal and grow. Providing financial, educational & athletic programs along with athlete mental support. While no one is immune to mental health challenges, our foundation’s goal is to shed a light on the specific issues that athletes encounter and assist them with resources and outlets to improve their overall mental health.
